Mid-Atlantic Grain Fair and Conference on March 17, 2025

Join the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Grain Fair and Conference to Strengthen the Regional Grain Value Chain

SPOOM Mid-Atlantic members are invited to participate in the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Grain Conference, hosted by Common Grain Alliance on March 17, 2025, at Riverside on the Potomac. This event brings together stakeholders across the grain value chain—including millers, bakers, distillers, and other grain artisans—to foster collaboration, education, and networking that support a resilient regional grain economy.

The conference will feature hands-on workshops, engaging discussions, and networking opportunities—including a Millstone Maintenance Workshop with Andrew Heyn and a panel on Milling Alternative Grains with Jill Brockman-Cummings of Janie's Mill and Greg Johnsman of Marsh Hen Mill.

These sessions may be of particular interest:

  • Millstone Maintenance Workshop – Led by Andrew Heyn of New American Stone Mills, this hands-on session will cover best practices for maintaining millstones and ensuring optimal milling performance.
  • Milling Alternative Grains Panel Discussion – A conversation exploring techniques, challenges, and opportunities in milling non-traditional grains with Jill Brockman-Cummings of Janie's Mill and Greg Johnsman of Marsh Hen Mill.

Additionally, don’t miss the free Mid-Atlantic Grain Fair on March 16, 2025, at Wheatland Spring Farm and Brewery, where the community will gather to celebrate and explore products made with regional grains and staple foods.
